A Nap of less than 30 minutes duration during the day promotes wakefulness and enhances performance and learning ability. Longer naps, especially those lasting an hour or more, have been linked with obesity and increased cardiovascular disease risks. A nap of 45 minutes improves learning and memory.

EFFECTS OF NAP ACCORDING TO ISLAM:-

A mid-day nap is an important practice for Muslims, and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ promoted naps as beneficial. In Islam, the mid-day napping is called Qailulah. Hazrat Anas رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا relates that Muslims used to offer Friday prayers early and have a midday nap afterwards. During your nap time, it is appropriate for others to seek permission before meeting and seeing you.

EFFECTS OF NAP ACCORDING TO SCIENCE:-

Scientists found that people who napped 30 to 90 minutes had better word recall which is a sign of good memory than people who did not nap or who napped for longer than 90 minutes. People who napped for that 30 to 90 minutes were also better at figure drawing. Napping isn’t just for babies. Researches or studies shown that an afternoon nap is great for adult, too. The best nap length for adults is about 20 minutes and no longer than 30 minutes.
