Maze Runner is a blockbuster book that sold millions of copies worldwide. The masterpiece is written by James Dashner, a writer widely known for his young adult fantasy fiction. Maze Runner is a science fiction, dystopian young adult fiction. It begins with the protagonist Thomas landing in a mysterious place called the globe. Thomas is trapped inside the glade surrounded by an infinite maze with horrible monsters and no way out. In the glade, he realizes that he doesn't remember anything except his name, finding himself in a community of boys around his age who have made a small town in the glade.

As Thomas starts finding out more about the place, he learns that the boys there have been held prisoners inside the center of a huge maze and they have been searching for a way out for two years. Each glader, as they call themselves, has a specific job. The gladers include Alby who is the leader of the group and one of the first people to arrive in the glade. Then comes Newt, who is the second in command after Ally. Thomas finds himself making friends with a chubby guy called Chuck. Just two days after Thomas' arrival, a girl arrives called Teresa. Thomas and Teresa have the familiar feeling that they know each other. Some other characters also include the leader of runners (people who search the maze the whole day to find a way out) called Minho, and the bully called Gally who apparently hates Thomas.

After some catastrophic and unexpected events, the gladers’ world is turned upside down and Thomas decides that he needs to become a runner which may cost him his life. The Gladers have no idea who they are, where they are from, and who put them in this place. All they know is that they need to find a way to escape the maze somehow and get back home. They are being controlled by an agency called the WICKED which is spying on them through drones called the beetle blades. The writer ends the book with a woman called Paige writing to her associates about the maze trials, group A. In it, she explains how the variables have performed well and soon Stage 2 will begin. At this, the book ends leaving the novel at a suspenseful cliffhanger. For me, this book was an absolute win. It's amazing and filled with so many adventures, mysteries, and action.

The plot is incredible with every page being a new mystery yet to be solved. The writer portrayed the scenes quite beautifully, with realistic suspense and detail. I would recommend this to all the people who love page-turners, action, and drama. Personally, the book is fine but I would recommend it for readers above the age of thirteen for abusive language, violence, and disturbing scenes. Long story short, you should definitely read it.
